The cornerstone of the Be2.com system is the personality-matching test on which the site is based. Members have to complete the questionnaire in its entirety (which should take around 20 minutes or so) in order to access the site and see potential matches. The questions in the test are broadly personality based, although a number focus on how you see the world, your preferences in a partner, your outlook on life and what sort of lover you are (or perhaps think you are). As well as the personality testing process, members can also use a manual search to find results that would not otherwise have been returned by the matching system.
Once you have found the perfect match with the site, it’s easy to get in touch and take things further. Members have access to a great email service (administered entirely within the site) as well as an instant messaging service for having quick, real time conversations. Although we generally liked what Be2 had to offer, we did have a few problems with the way the site worked. Firstly, profiles on the site are extremely detailed, so we feel users would have to devote a number of hours filling everything in and ensuring it best reflected their personality. Similarly, the user questionnaire that supports the scientific matching system takes around 20 minutes to complete, and although this is far from the longest questionnaire we have seen, the questions were boring and lacked the variation present in other sites we have reviewed in this category. Finally, the site is incredibly expensive, especially for users intending to use the site for a prolonged period of time. The site does offer a $5 trial, but the cheapest long-term membership package comes in at around $29.99 a month, making it one of the most expensive sites we have reviewed.
While many of our readers will probably enjoy the slick appearance and worldwide membership of Be2, we feel the site is a little overpriced considering what is on offer elsewhere in this competitive market.
