Since time immemorial, the human species has gone forth and multiplied. Whilst a life alone is fine for some, many people wish to become at least 2, if not more. Be2.com takes its impetus from the idea of becoming a couple, and it aims to help its members to do so by offering an online matchmaking service.

The site is international, linking people up from around the world, or just with the boy or girl down the road. There are apparently over 30 million members, so there’s no shortage of people to get to know!

Be2 works by matching you with other members based on your personalities. Subsequently you need to take some time to fill out a personality profiling quiz, which then allows you to seek out members who will complement your preferences in life, whether it’s hobbies or just general outlooks. 

This isn’t the cheapest matchmaking website around. In fact, it’s quite expensive unless you decide to take out a 12 month contract. But is it worth it? We’re not sure, and this will probably be something you need to decide for yourself, based on whether or not you feel the features on offer will help you get a date.

Talking of features, the site has some pretty in depth profiles, and allows you to upload as many pictures as you like. This will really help you to express (and sell) yourself. An interesting restriction on the site is that you cannot view someone’s extended profile until you’ve completed your own, and you cannot view their photos until yours have been uploaded and checked by the team. This, in theory, helps stop time wasters who might just log in, put in minimal effort, and try to contact as many people as possible.  

When we first tried registering with Be2 we were a little confused. The homepage shows a map of all the countries which have a Be 2 site, yet the United States webpage just returned us to the map. We never quite figured out what was going on, but suffice to say the company covers a lot of countries around the world, and you can search for members near you, or over the other side of the globe. 

Upgrading your account allows you to see who has checked your profile, communicate with members and view pictures clearly. We feel they could offer a little more than this, especially if they improved on their selection of communication tools, which is a little limited. 

With so many members and such a detailed personality matching system, we do feel that paying members should find dating success using this site. However, there’s more work which could be done and it’s one of the more expensive options around. There are elements to like here, which make it worth considering, but we’re not fully convinced that the additional costs make Be2.com a superior choice compared with a number of its peers.
