Life’s often about finding balance, looking for someone who fits you and your lifestyle. That’s the aim of Dating Direct Affinity: matchmaking for people who want to find a partner based on their personalities. It does this by asking each member to complete an online personality test, then compiles the information and makes recommendations of members it thinks you’d get along with. It’s also part of the Match.com family (which includes MatchAffinity), so is used by a decent number of people who are looking for something similar.

Where Match.com leaves members to their own devices, DatingDirectAffinity takes away some of the work of finding suitable dates. Once your initial test is completed, you need only sit back and allow the system to recommend dates for you. From there you can check each member out, see what they have to say, peruse their photos, and get in touch. Easy.

There are no search options to consider here, as you can only find suitable matches, rather than taking a chance on someone random. You might think that this restricts your potential dating pool, and, whilst this is in some ways true, it does mean that you won’t have to wade through the weeds to find someone special. This is a time saving and labor-saving device, then, and is perhaps going to be most useful to anybody who doesn’t have hours to spend browsing profiles each week.

Previous complaints regarding dead profiles and less-than-exceptional customer service remain. However, it’s worth remembering that this dating site is a matchmaker, rather than allowing you the relative freedom to browse profiles as you see fit. 

We’ve previously described this site as containing no-frills, and that remains true. This is a simple matchmaking site which cuts out unnecessary features. Still, we do feel it could benefit from a few more communication tools, allowing you to talk with members in more ways than just sending an email. We like the fact that it compares you with other members, but it could also do a little extra to help spice up conversations, such as drawing on particular similarities and interests which might be a chatting point.

As with Match Affinity, we had some trouble registering with DatingDirectAffinity.com, and one account won’t let you log in to the other. You also cannot  have an account for each site using a single email address, in case you wanted to sign up for both. There would be few advantages to this doubling up in any case, and we would recommend looking at them both and choosing your favorite. Each site is stripped back somewhat, so if you’re looking for extra features, then you may wish to look elsewhere.

Short contracts are expensive but you can expect significant discounts if you take out a 12 month membership plan. The real question here is whether you feel that the system works for you. We recommend giving the website a try to see whether or not it will help you find the affinity you’re looking for.
