The site is administrated poorly. You provide specific details about what you're looking for, and yet they match you with people who don't meet your criteria. I received a message from a person 20 years too young who lives over 1000 miles away. My criteria clearly showed my age preference and said "within 25 miles." They even sent me the profile of a person of the wrong gender! C'mon, Chemistry, can't you tell the girls from the boys?
The tool they use to supposedly determine your personality type is incredibly superficial and meaningless.
Also, the internal features of the site don't work well. You're asked to upload a headshot of yourself, and when I did, the program kept telling me I needed a headshot. It took numerous emails to customer service before it got fixed, because they use semi-automated responses. I finally had to request that a supervisor handle it.
The worst thing about the site is your inability to get in-depth information about the people you're considering, even though you're required to provide that information when you join. I'm talking about questions related to preferences, interests, etc. Aside from the brief profile that people write about themselves, you don't see all that background data. Why not? What a waste of time.
Chemistry.com is all about grabbing your cash. As soon as my 3-month "deal" expires, I'm outta there.
In summary, I would not recommend Chemistry.com to a friend.
